Home playoff may be slipping away for Wings

By Tom Hoffman

After Saturday's 15-10 loss to the Minnesota Swarm the playoff bound Philadelphia Wings have now lost four straight games. Yet they still have a chance for not only a home playoff game, but they can still win the National Lacrosse League's East Division. The Wings (7-8) will need to defeat the Rochester Knighthawks next Saturday for the first time since January 2009 to secure a home game in the 2012 NLL Playoffs and can also claim the East title with a Toronto Rock loss at Edmonton as the Wings own the tie breaker with Toronto. A Wings loss and they will open the postseason on the road. Dan Dawson led the Wings with a five goal performance yet for a second straight game goalie Brandon Miller was chased from the nets in favor of backup Steve Fryer.
