2012 Wings Lacrosse (2-12-12 vs. Buffalo)

The Philadelphia Wings (2-2) will look to get back on the winning side Sunday afternoon when they host the Buffalo Bandits (2-3) at the Wells Fargo Center. Game time is at 4 PM and can be seen on the Comcast Network as well as the NLL Network at NLL.com. The game will also be broadcast on Z88.9 (Burlington County College) and online at www.z889.org.

History

The Wings are 21-22 all time against the Bandits. The Wings have a record of 11-10 at home against Buffalo but have lost their last three meetings in Philadelphia. The Wings last home win against Buffalo was on February 6, 2009 (13-11). The Wings defeated the Bandits 13-10 on January 27 at Buffalo’s First Niagara Center.

Last Game

The Wings led 4-3 in the first quarter and trailed 9-6 at halftime but could not score in the second half as they fell 15-6 to the Toronto Rock last Saturday at the Wells Fargo Center. Goal scorers for the Wings were David Brock, Ned Crotty, Brodie Merrill, Kevin Crowley, Drew Westervelt and Dan Dawson.

The Opponent

The Bandits have lost three straight games after a 2-0 to the 2012 season. Last Saturday the Bandits lost at home in overtime to the Washington Stealth 11-10. Buffalo is 1-1 on the road in 2012.

All Stars

The Wings will have four representatives in the 2012 All Star Game that will take place on February 25 at Buffalo’s First Niagara Center. Brodie Merrill was voted to start for the East Division team while Kevin Crowley, Dan Dawson and Max Seibald were added as reserves.

Stats and Stuff

The Wings are 2-0 this season when tied at halftime and 0-2 when trailing at halftime. In both of those games they trailed, the score at half was 9-6.

On this date

The Wings are 1-2 in games played on February 12. In 1989 they defeated the Baltimore Thunder 14-9 at the Spectrum, in 2005 they lost to the Rochester Knighthawks 16-15 at Blue Cross Arena and in 2011 lost to the Buffalo Bandits16-7 at the Wells Fargo Center.

Next Game

The Wings will head North of the Border to face the Toronto Rock on February 18.
