Game Preview - Barrage at Rattlers 6-23-07

After seeing their franchise record win streak end at Long Island last week, the Philadelphia Barrage (3-1) look to start a new one Saturday when they travel to Rochester, NY to face off with the Rattlers (2-2). Faceoff at PAETEC Park is at 7:30 PM. The Barrage defeated Rochester 21-17 on June 2 at USTC in Downingtown, PA.

Last Week

After playing to a 7-7 tie through halftime, the Barrage were outscored 9-0 to start the second half and never recovered, falling to the Lizards 16-11 at Mitchel Field. Ryan Boyle led Philly with a six point performance (four goals, two assists) while ex-Barrage players Blake Miller (three goals) and Keith Cromwell (two goals, three assists) led the Long Island offense.

Records Broken

Last weekend, a number of MLL records were tied or broken in Rochester's 27-26 overtime win at Denver. The Rattlers John Grant Jr. tied a league record with a 14 point performance including eight goals and four assists, the eight goals also tied a team record. Two of his goals were from beyond the 2 point arc. It was the highest scoring game in league history with 53 points combined between the two teams. Denver set a single game record with 42 points (22 goals, 4 two pointers, and 16 assists).
