The Barrage (3-3) open the second half of the 2008 Major League Lacrosse season the same way as the first half; with a matchup against the Washington Bayhawks (3-3) Saturday evening. Game time at George Mason University is at 7 PM. The game will be televised Sunday night on Comcast SportsNet at 7:30 PM.
Last Meeting
The teams opened the 2008 season in Virginia Beach with the Barrage taking a 17-12 victory. Ryan Boyle tallied five points (3G, 2A) and Bobby Horsey added three goals for the Barrage while Brian Dougherty made 19 saves in net. Conor Gill led the Bayhawks with four points (3G, 1A).
Last Week
The Barrage fell 20-17 to the Rochester Rattlers Saturday in Cary, North Carolina. The Barrage led 3-2 early and went back ahead 16-15 early in the fourth quarter before Rochester scored five of the game's final six goals to escape with the win. Matt Striebel and Ryan Boyle each scored four goals for the Barrage. Washington lost at Boston 14-12 on June 19th.
Notes
The Bayhawks traded Ridley native Bill McGlone to San Francisco for Jarett Park and Hunter Lochte.
Four of the top 10 scorers will be on the field in this game. Washington's Kyle Dixon and Conor Gill each have 24 points while the Barrage's Matt Striebel and Ryan Boyle follow with 22 points each. Dixon is tied for the league lead in 2 point goals (3) and leads in powerplay goals (5) while Gill leads in powerplay assists with seven.
The Barrage put M Joe Ceglia on season ending injured reserve while A Jed Prossner is on 2 game injured reserve as he recovers from a hand injury from Game 2 against Long Island.
Next Game
The Barrage travel to Boston to meet the Cannons on July 3rd.
